Forever Families - Phase 1

Adelaide & Styx Meet their Mamas

This weekend has been action packed here on the homestead. Getting puppies & myself prepared for their departure has been all consuming. Baths, paperwork & final farewells have been in the forefront. One of the first comments I get when anyone finds out I'm fostering is "How can you part with them?". The answer is one you either can "get" or not. If you feel the excitement, hope, joy & love in the eyes & smiles of the adoptive families then you "get it". If not trying to describe it is hopeless. The most impactfull moment was when Styx(Squirt) & Adelaide(Peach)'s new Mamas met them. Neither of them had ever personally met the puppies. They  greeted their puppies with a symphony of "Oohs & Aahs" Seeing their reaction to their new family members was priceless. Adelaide's Mama was so excited she could hardly keep her hand from shaking to write the donation check.

Bruce & His Forever Family

The most appropriate word to describe Bruce's family "ADORABLE!" Each family member is equally enthusiast, informed & devoted. They're the picture perfect post card of the stereotypical "all American Family" complete with a yellow dog. They should pose for Hallmark!

MoJo & his Mama
It's my prediction MoJo(Crush) is going to be the most spoiled pup of the litter. His new Mama looks at him with deep love smitten gazes & melts into baby talk just to see his chubby tail wag. MoJo's family has waited a long time for the right match for their family. They had an approved application in place & were patient in their search. It's obvious their patience paid off. From the get-go MoJo was by far the most cuddly, mellow Snuggle bug of the litter. He was born to be their "baby".

Bella & her Forever Family
Bella(Pearl)'s adoption was the most in question. I wasn't sure if her family was going to bite or not. While her new PaPaw is ready for a new pup, her Mama had some hesitation. Bella worked her magic & charmed them into taking the bait. Bella is a bright puppy & loves attention just like the others but she is the one who likes to sick close to me when the others would rather be off exploring. I'm sure Bella will give her lifetime of devotion & appreciation to the chance she's been given. I highly doubt there will be any regrets for giving this sweetie a family.

Grandma's Nermo & his new Mama
Nemo is with our son's girlfriend to get some extra TLC while he recovers. I'll be crate training Bailey(Dory) & Cooper(Nigel) this next week. It's become evident that Nemo will only be returning for visits to Grandma's & not as a permanet resident. He's a proven thief & has stolen her heart. There is nothing better than giving a puppy you love to someone you love. Win-Win situation for us all. Seeing her so happy makes missing Nemo tolerable. Nemo has a big brother, our son's Siberian Husky, Coach. They're so cute together! Coach is still a little confused & I think a bit jealous of this new little dude taking over. Nemo stands up for himself & acts like a little macho man... & then tries to snuggle up next to Coach like a little baby. Everything is going great so far, he seems very happy.
