Now that the puppies are posted on Petfinder & other adoption sites, the inquires are pouring in (thankfully!) We don't have any definite commitments yet but lots of interest & applications to review. The most asked question is "What do you think the father is?" That's a great question & one I ponder often.  A dog is all we can be certain of. In fact, litters can have more than one father. The father/fathers are likely mixed breeds themselves. Lucy, or better Loose-ie is not giving up her puppy-daddy names.

Our Cousins came over for a puppy socializing visit yesterday. Makayla & Sydney romped around with the litter. Pups were very excited about their guests & eager to shower them with puppy kisses. It took some work to convince them (especially Nigel) that pony tails aren't for tug-of-war. Crush & Bruce let the girls carry them like rage dolls. Nemo & Dory couldn't get enough tag play. It took Perl a while to warp up, but once she did the extra snuggles made is worth it. As the only red-head of the litter, Peach has an unfair advantage. Chris is know to have a thing for red-heads!

Mud Wrestling

 Puppies were in the big yard with me while if did some gardening. Pearl found a little mud puddle at the spot where the 2 hoses connect & had a party in it witht the whole litter. ...today was also their first bath!!! Pearl was the first one in. Huge mess but they had so much fun. It was well worth the mess.

Piranhas or Puppies?

 Puppies went from worms, to drunken peeing bobble heads & are now in the pooping piranha stage. Yes, Lucy is still tolerating them!!! She gets mother of the year award. If you could see how sharp their nails are you'd agree. My shins sport ribbons of scabs form the one time I wore shorts (one time, I'm a quick learner!)

With temperatures over 100 yesterday I thought it was a perfect time to introduce the puppies to water. None were excited about the idea but a they all got wet & cooled off. Once the toys were in the water they had more incentive to get in.  Crush was the only one who laid down in it...of course he doesn't  have far to go to lie down. Like all Kodak moments, the camera's batteries died. When Lucy go in she realized she found a spot to hang out to get some peace & quite away from the piranhas.

Here in Gilory we're baking in the inception of Indian Summer. The pups have adapted by snuggling up to the cool rocks instead of each other.
